Privacy Notice

In relation to the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation law (GDPR), all therapists have a responsibility to comply with its terms.  This is to ensure the secure and responsible use of your personal data, including the protection of your privacy.

By taking part in therapy you give permission as outlined below.

  1. That only information will be held about you that is relevant to supporting treatment.  This is likely to include the following: personal contact details, date of birth, registered GP, medication and case notes relating to therapy
  1. Your treatment is private and confidential.  The only terms where this may not apply are where you present as a significant risk of harm either to yourself or to others or for anonymous discussion in supervision.  Please do share anyone else with whom you would explicitly like information shared and this can be arranged
  1. All information held about you is stored securely either in lockable or password accessed storage
  1. Written communications with you may be kept by text, email or similar. I will keep these communications confidential, however, please note that unless encrypted, they are not guaranteed as a fully secure means of communication
  1. Please ensure the security of your computer is protected during video and audio calls.  I will take the same measures with mine
  1. All information about you will be stored for up to 6 years from the point of discharge and then deleted
  1. In the unlikely circumstance that you feel unable to resolve any concerns directly with me, you have the right to contact The Information Commisioner’s Office directly via their website:  https://ico.org.uk/. The ICO upholds information rights on behalf of the public and with whom my practice is registered
